Life Is Strange, Isn’t It?
Lately, I keep finding myself saying, “Life is weird.” Maybe weird isn’t quite the right word. Maybe it’s more strange. Unfamiliar. Shifting. Mysterious.
This post was originally going to be about how hard it is to accept change. Because let’s be honest, most of us resist it. Change feels uncomfortable, disorienting, and sometimes it even makes us feel like we’re losing our minds for a bit. But then, slowly, we start to acclimate. We begin to find a new balance, a new rhythm. We adapt.
It’s like a seed in the soil or a caterpillar in its cocoon. It’s dark, messy, and uncomfortable, but eventually, growth happens. Transformation comes. It’s not always graceful, but it’s necessary.
And even with that understanding, life still isn’t easy. That’s why I’m writing this as a reminder: lean into the people who feel like home. Community matters. Genuine connection matters.
If you’re a recovering people pleaser like me, it can be hard to know who your “true” people are. These days, everyone’s busy, tired, overwhelmed, or just trying to survive. And unfortunately, some people will take advantage of your kindness, those who see you as a resource rather than a relationship. As the song goes, “Some of them want to abuse you…”
So choose your people wisely. Not everyone deserves access to your energy. But the ones who do, the ones who show up, pour back into you, and remind you who you are. those people are gold.
Hold them close. Life may be strange, but with the right people by your side, it doesn’t have to feel so lonely.
